Where do I find the most recent election results?

I want to get married. How do I get a license?
Marriage licenses can be used anywhere in the State of Oregon. The County Clerk is responsible for issuing them. There is a three-day waiting period, then the license is good for 60 days. There is a $60 fee ; cash (exact change would be helpful) or money order are accepted - no checks or debit / credit cards are taken. Identification is required, either driver's license or a witness will be accepted. No blood test or physical exam is required to obtain a license.
Does the County Judge perform weddings and how much do they cost?
The County Judge performs weddings by appointment only (call 541-473-5124 between 8:30 am and 3:00 pm, to make an appointment). When the wedding is performed at the Courthouse during regular Courthouse hours, the fee of $100 cash or money order is payable to the County Clerks office. The District Court Judges, Justice Court Judges and Municipal Court Judges can also perform weddings.
Are building permits issued at the courthouse?
No. They are issued by Inspections Inc., 445 SW 24th St. in Ontario; call (541) 889-7422. Zoning approval from the Planning Department is required before building permits can be issued.

I have questions about transporting material into Oregon. Who do I call for trip permits?
Call the State of Oregon's Farewell Bend Port of Entry (541) 869-2474; Fax (541) 869-2021. The port is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for permits, etc. Oregon permits are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the phone center in Salem, Oregon at 503-378-6699. Hours were effective 2001.
Do I have to have a burn permit?
If you live outside of city limits, in Malheur County, a burn permit is required for, but not limited to, agriculture and construction waste. Use of a burn barrel, covered by a mesh screen, requires a burn permit. There is no fee, but application must be made in person.
When is the landfill open?
Lytle Boulevard Landfill hours are listed below. The hours are the same all year except holiday closures.
- Tuesday and Thursday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
What are the rates at Lytle Landfill?

Does the county have any land for sale?
Tax foreclosure land is listed and handled by the County Treasurer (541) 473-5148. You can ask to be on the mailing list by sending your request, along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: County Treasurer, 251 B St. Suite #10, Vale, OR 97918. Land that is not sold at the public auction is then publicly advertised, at the Court's direction, to be sold by bid. You can request your name be added to that mailing list by sending the request and a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: County Court, 251 B St. Suite #5, Vale, OR 97918.
Where do I file small claims?
Small claims may be filed at the Malheur Justice Court in Ontario (541) 889-5712, or in District Court in Vale (541) 473-5194. Filing costs are less when filed in the Justice Court than in the District Court.
What does it cost to file cases in the County Courts?

Go to the Sheriffs Office in Person. Do not call the Sheriff's Office or Jail, staff are not permitted to give that information over the phone.

Where do I get information on flood warnings and local river flows?
Boise National Weather Service can be found at the following web address: http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/Boise, and during times of high water flows, the Emergency Alert System will be activated. What kind of weed is this?
If you have a weed you can't identify, you can call the County Weed Inspector for an onsite identification, or collect as much of the plant as possible, including the root, put it in a plastic bag and keep it as cool as possible. Bring it to the Weed Inspector's office at the County Road Department, 1001 Barkley Drive in Vale, or to the County Extension office at 710 S.W. Fifth Ave. in Ontario.
