| Information about Restaurant Scoring: |
| Each restaurant receives two unannounced, semi-annual inspections each year. Additional inspections may be due to the change of ownership or a re-inspection due to violations on the regular semi-annual inspection.
Each restaurant is given a placard stating that the facility has either "Complied", "Failed to Comply", or "Closed". To fit the definition of "Complied", the facility must have received a 70% or better on the regular semi-annual inspection. Mobile units are neither scored, nor do they recieve such a placard The violations that are bolded and in red are Critical Violations that receive a score of four or five points. Mutiple deficiencies noted in the same category are assessed points for one of the violations in that category. A critical violation is more likely than other "non-critcal violations" to contribute to food contamination, illness, or an environmental health hazard. A non-critical violation will receive one or two points, and again are only assessed once per category. All violations on the inspection report can receive repeat penalty points if they are noted on a congruent semi-annual inspection. The points for repeat violations are doubled. Most critical items are required to be corrected during the inspection or may require a re-inspection. |
