DEPARTMENT: County Clerk (Vale, OR)
POSITION STATUS: Full Time (37.5hrs/wk, 8:30am – 5pm Mon thru Fri)
SALARY: $2,058/month

JOB DUTIES: This position performs complex and varied duties of a clerical and technical nature, including correspondence, maintenance and analysis of records and preparation of statistics and reports. Will receive, record and file legal documents; assign, collect and records cash payments; balance, prepare and deposit receipts and distribute funds; issue marriage licenses and receive passport applications. May be required to attend and take board minutes.
SCREENING REQUIREMENTS: Must have a high school diploma or equivalency with 5 years of experience in support services to professional managers relating to office management or a satisfactory combination of experience and training. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; proficient in the operation of office equipment including typewriter, computer equipment, fax and dictation machines. Must have considerable knowledge of record keeping methods, bookkeeping and accounting principles. Basic knowledge of legal documents and terminology. Working knowledge of MS Excel and Word preferred. Must courteously meet and deal effectively with other employees, department heads, outside agency personnel and the public. Must maintain confidentiality. Background checks will be completed.
