Discovery Clerk
DEPARTMENT: District Attorney’s Office (Vale, OR)
POSITION STATUS: Full Time (37.5hrs/wk, 8:30am – 5pm Mon thru Fri)
SALARY: $2,058/month (if currently participating in PERS)

JOB DUTIES: This position performs duties as needed to support the operation of the DA’s Office, involving multiple steps in procedures relating to discovery including the copying of paperwork, CD’s, videos and photographs. Responsible for billing the State for Court appointed cases and defense for retained cases; record in DACMS the status of discovery; prepare form offer letters signed by ADA’s. Support clerical duties include accepting payments, writing receipts, answering telephone calls, assisting people at the window, filing and typing correspondence.
SCREEN REQUIREMENTS: Must have a high school diploma or equivalency with four years clerical experience of a progressively responsible nature or a satisfactory combination of experience and training that would demonstrate possession of the requirements of the position. Must have thorough knowledge of English composition, spelling, grammar and punctuation and reasonable knowledge of the legal and court system process. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees, attorneys and the public; make decisions in accordance with established policy and use initiative to carryout tasks and responsibilities; effectively organize to meet established schedules; adjust to priority changes.
