PUBLIC NOTICE – Rrate Increase Proposal of 3% for Ontario Sanitary Service/Waste Connections

 

 

The Malheur County Court will hold a public hearing to consider a rate increase proposal of 3% for Ontario Sanitary Service/Waste Connections, within the boundaries of Malheur County not to include the City of Ontario, on July 9, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. (Mountain Time) at the Malheur County Courthouse, 251 B Street W, Room 106, Vale, Oregon 97918.  Interested persons may also participate in the hearing electronically via Go-To Meeting.  Login by computer/tablet/smartphone:  https://meet.goto.com/MCPZ/malheur-county-court  Access Code:  299-510-653.  Oral comments may be given during the public hearing.  Written comments will be received up to and including the date and time of the hearing and may be emailed to kim.ross@malheurco.org.   The new rates are proposed to take effect August 1, 2025.  The complete Rate Schedule is available for review at Ontario Sanitary Service, 540 SE 9th Avenue, Ontario, Oregon; or at www.malheurco.org.

BURN BAN ORDERED

Effective June 18th, a BURN BAN for each of the fire districts, as well as the Unincorporated areas of Malheur County will be in effect. Due to a wet spring, our fuels are extra high this year and the threat of causing a major fire event are high. Trash should be hauled off to land-fills during the burn ban and not burned.
