At a glance:  Malheur County is one of a few unique Oregon counties with a County Judge who is the chair of the three-person Commission.

Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Regular meetings are held each Wednesday. They are public meetings except for executive sessions.
Anyone wishing to speak to the commissioners during County Court is advised to make an appointment.

Malheur County is one of a few unique Oregon counties with a County Judge who
is the chair of the three-person Commission. The County Judge is full-time and
the two commissioners are two-fifths time. The County Judge has the authority to
preside over probate matters and perform weddings. The Judge is elected for a
six-year term, while the Commissioners are elected for a four-year term.The County Court is not a court of law, and does not preside over trials,
sentence defendants or have jurisdiction over the legal community.
