At a glance:	Malheur County is one of a few unique Oregon counties with a County Judge who is the chair of the three-person Commission. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Regular meetings are held each Wednesday. They are public meetings except for executive sessions. Malheur County is one of a few unique Oregon counties with a County Judge who
is the chair of the three-person Commission. The County Judge is full-time and
the two commissioners are two-fifths time. The County Judge has the authority to
preside over probate matters and perform weddings. The Judge is elected for a
six-year term, while the Commissioners are elected for a four-year term.The County Court is not a court of law, and does not preside over trials,
sentence defendants or have jurisdiction over the legal community.
